FL Man Part Of Mob That Stormed U.S. Capitol On Jan. 6: DOJ
A Fleming Island, Florida, man faces charges related to the breach of the U.S. Capitol building on Jan. 6, 2021, federal officials said.
WASHINGTON, D.C. — A Florida man faces felony and misdemeanor charges for being part of the mob that stormed the U.S. Capitol building on Jan. 6, 2021, during the electoral vote count for the 2020 presidential election, according to a U.S. Department of Justice news release.
Marcus Smith, 47, of Fleming Island was charged with destruction of property and aiding and abetting.
Smith was also charged with several misdemeanor offenses, including entering and remaining in a restricted building or grounds, disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building or grounds, engaging in physical violence in a restricted building or grounds, disorderly conduct in a Capitol building, act of physical violence in the Capitol grounds or buildings, and parading, demonstrating, or picketing in a Capitol building.

He was arrested Friday by the FBI in Florida and made his initial appearance in the Middle District of Florida, the DOJ said.
