Officials will explain bus, First Coast Flyer, paratransit, and student programs while gathering feedback to shape future service improvements and neighborhood connectivity.
   

2. Duval County schools honor legacy of first blind student with historic braille writer (actionnewsjax.com) — Duval County Public Schools in Jacksonville is honoring the legacy of Paul Kurtz, its first blind student, by receiving his historic braille writer. Kurtz graduated from Riverside High in 1970, became the district’s first blind Eagle Scout, led in student government, excelled in music, and later worked in disability services and community leadership.
   

3. Thousands of dollars worth of teaching equipment stolen from Minds of the Future Academy (firstcoastnews.com) — Minds of the Future Academy in Jacksonville was burglarized during its move into a new St. Nicholas campus, with thieves stealing all of the school’s technology and equipment. The loss, estimated at about $250,000 and not yet insured at the new site, means students will start the next semester back in their old leased buildings while staff rebuilds.
   

4. ‘He was everything to me': Sister of 16-year-old fatally shot in Sandalwood remembers baby brother (news4jax.com) — A Jacksonville family is grieving 16-year-old Amir Bostic, who was fatally shot along with two others and later died at the hospital. Loved ones remember him as a kind, artistic teen, while police continue investigating and the family prepares to join a January 3 community walk against gun violence with MAD DADS.
   

5. MFTK holds 2nd annual Spartan Showcase in Jacksonville (firstcoastnews.com) — Young football players converged on Jacksonville for MFTK’s second Spartan Showcase, drawing about 200 prospects and national recruiting services to KIPP. Founded by former NFL player James Coleman, the event aims to give Jacksonville athletes more exposure and a pathway to higher-level competition, including a 7-on-7 team that could represent the city nationally.
