Man Apprehended At Naval Air Station Jacksonville: Officials

NAS Jacksonville security and the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office apprehended a man who crashed near the base and jumped the fence.

JACKSONVILLE, FL — An all-clear has been given after a manhunt that had Naval Air Station Jacksonville on lockdown for several hours Wednesday, officials said.

There was a heavy police presence on Naval Air Station Jacksonville as station security and the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office searched for a suspect, according to the station's official Twitter account.

All residents of the station were urged to stay in their homes and avoid the areas between Perimeter Road and Swan Road during the search, station officials said.

Officials said the man crashed his car near the base and jumped the fence around 10 a.m., according to a report from News 4 Jax.
