The future of Jacksonville is looking bright, thanks to the incredible young people working to strengthen our community. In partnership with T-Mobile, Patch is proud to spotlight future leaders like Ayla Geoghegan, who are making a positive impact in and around Jacksonville.

Ayla is a standout young leader in Jacksonville, recognized for her remarkable achievements in academics, leadership and civic engagement. As a 2024 alum of Youth Leadership Jacksonville, Ayla was able to hone her communication, decision-making and problem-solving skills while gaining valuable insights into government, business and human services. During this prestigious seven-month program, she connected with peers and local leaders and fostered her commitment to addressing critical community issues.

In 2023, Ayla placed fourth in the Impromptu Speaking category at Florida's National Civics and Debate Competition, The Great Debate. This event, hosted by the Florida Civics and Debate Initiative, brought together over 400 students from across the country, representing all 67 Florida school districts, to compete in Congressional Debate, Impromptu Speaking and Extemporaneous Debate.
