Riverside Post Acute has announced a new partnership with Ascension St. Vincent's Family Medicine Residency Program centered on second- and third-year medical residents rounding at the Jacksonville skilled nursing facility. Located at 1750 Stockton Street, Riverside Post Acute provides post-hospital care, short-term rehab and long-term residential care.

Riverside’s new geriatric rounding program is under the direction of Medical Director Ravish Narvel, MD, FACP, CMD, who is affiliated with Ascension St. Vincent’s. Twenty-nine medical residents were part of the inaugural cohort, rounding in small groups for a multi-week rotation.

“At Ascension St. Vincent’s Family Medicine Residency, our second- and third-year residents bring advanced clinical skills and experience when rounding at Riverside,” said Dr. Narvel. “They’re able to manage more complex cases and mentor junior learners – effectively acting as an extra pair of hands for families and patients. This not only supports efficient, attentive care but also contributes to a strong patient satisfaction experience.”

Pam Montemurno, regional director of market development at Marquis Health Consulting Services, which supports Riverside, readily agreed with the clear benefits of the partnership. She added, “Riverside patients are delighting in having the Ascension St. Vincent’s clinicians – many of whom are the age of their grandchildren or even great-grandchildren – round. The highly skilled medical residents have a tremendous level of compassion and are learning from the patients, as well, as they listen to their stories.”
