1 Dead In Lakeland Plane Crash: Reports

Though the person was not identified Tuesday, a media outlet reported the pilot was the sole person aboard the plane.

MULBERRY, FL — A person in a small single-engine plane died Tuesday after the aircraft crashed at the South Lakeland Airport in Mulberry, WFLA reported.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the fatality, both WFLA and WESH 2 reported. The person was not identified, though WFLA reported the pilot was the sole person aboard the plane.

The cause of the crash is unknown.
