Mulberry Driver Killed, Lakeland Passenger Seriously Injured In I-4 Crash: Deputies
Florida Highway Patrol investigated a single-car crash along Interstate-4 near Thonotosassa Road shortly after midnight Friday.
HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL — A car lost control on Interstate-4 in Hillsborough County killing the Mulberry driver when it crashed into the guardrail early Friday morning, Florida Highway Patrol said.
According to investigators, the 38-year-old male driver sped along I-4 westbound near Thonotosassa Road when the car went into the median smashed into guardrail. The force of the wreck threw him from the vehicle. Authorities pronounced him dead at the crash location at 12:32 a.m. A 34-year-old passenger of Lakeland was last reported in serious condition from the collision.
