1 Killed, 2 Injured In Hwy 98 Motorcycle Crash By Target: Police
The Lakeland Police Department is seeking information from anyone who may have witnessed a fatal crash Saturday afternoon.
LAKELAND, FL — A 24-year-old Auburndale woman was killed in a motorcycle crash Saturday afternoon on U.S. Highway 98 North near Target, Lakeland police said in a news release.
The victim was a passenger on a Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by a 26-year-old male of Auburndale around 4:20 p.m. as he drove northbound on U.S. Highway 98 North in the 3800 block, investigators said. A 19-year-old Lakeland man left the Target parking lot and pulled out onto Hwy 98 at about the same time, according to deputies. He turned in front of the motorcycle and then the bike crashed into the car.
The three people involved in the crash were taken to Lakeland Regional Health, police said. Medical staff pronounced the woman dead at the hospital, law enforcement officers said.
