$2M Powerball Prize Won By Lakeland Woman

Florida Lottery officials said Thursday that Carla Davis, 42, of Lakeland, claimed a $2 million prize from a Powerball drawing held in June.

LAKELAND, FL — Florida Lottery officials said Thursday that Carla Davis, 42, of Lakeland, claimed a $2 million prize from the Powerball drawing held on June 22.

The winning ticket matched all five of the white ball numbers, but did not match the Powerball number.

Davis bought her $2 million-winning ticket with Power Play from Sunny's Citgo Mart, 2085 W. Highland St. in Lakeland. The retailer will receive a $5,000 bonus commission for selling the winning ticket.

The next Powerball drawing will be held Saturday at 10:59 p.m.,with an estimated $378 million jackpot. Tickets must be purchased by 10 p.m. to be eligible for the drawing.

Scratch-off games comprise about 77 percent of ticket sales and generated more than $1.8 billion for the Educational Enhancement Trust Fund in fiscal year 2021-22.
