62-Year-Old Lakeland Man Dies After Being Struck By Pickup Truck

First responders performed life-saving measures but the unnamed man died at the scene.

LAKELAND, FL — Lakeland police are investigating a crash on Sunday night that killed a 62-year-old man.

According to police, at 9:12 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 4300 block of Williamstown Boulevard for a traffic crash involving a pedestrian. Officers found an unresponsive man who had been struck by a 2016 Nissan pickup truck.

The Lakeland Police Department, Polk County Fire Rescue and the Lakeland Fire Department performed life-saving measures but the unnamed man died at the scene. Despite the efforts of first responders, the 62-year-old male pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Based on information gathered at the scene, officers believe the man was struck and killed while walking in the westbound lane, crossing Williamstown Boulevard. The driver of the pickup truck, Kenneth Spencer Hudson, 42, was driving west on Williamstown Boulevard when he struck the man. Hudson stopped immediately after the crash and remained at the scene.
