The festivities will start with a live concert featuring Andrew Luv & the Franchise Players, who will bring their unique blend of soul, pop, smooth jazz and hip hop to the Red, White & Kaboom center stage.

“We are always excited to sponsor Red, White & Kaboom," said Tom Mims, president of the event's sponsor, T. Mims Corp. "Our family has been the title sponsor of Red, White & Kaboom since 2009, and we look forward to the event every year. It is an excellent opportunity for our community to come together in celebration of our great country.”

Mims is asking everyone attending to bring at least one nonperishable food item. There will be volunteers collecting canned food items that will be donated to Volunteers in Service to the Elderly, a community-based nonprofit organization serving Lakeland, Bartow, Mulberry and Ft. Meade.

"We want everyone to have fun, but we also want to help raise awareness for VISTE and use this opportunity to have the community’s largest canned food drive," Mims said.

Residents should bring a blanket to sit on as they watch the dramatic fireworks display over the lake. Those attending can bring their own cooler but no glass bottles, pop-up tents or large beach umbrellas are allowed. The evening is free.

Red, White & Kaboom props will be available for those taking selfies, and attendees are asked to share their photos through social media using #redwhiteandkaboom2023 and #RWK2023.

City staff will also be looking for those dressed in their patriotic best to share on social media.
