Giving Tuesday is a global initiative that brings people together to harness the potential of collective generosity. Fortunately for folks in the Lakeland area, there’s no shortage of organizations nearby that could greatly benefit from your support.

Here are five outstanding organizations in the Lakeland area. Please consider volunteering or donating to them for Giving Tuesday and beyond.


  1. Volunteers in Service to the Elderly (VISTE) — Dedicated to helping Lakeland's elderly residents maintain their independence and quality of life, VISTE provides services such as transportation, home repairs and companionship to seniors in need. Lakeland Volunteers in Medicine — With a team of volunteer medical professionals, this organization provides free primary medical, mental health and dental care to working, uninsured residents in Polk County.
