Half-Naked FL Man Holding Carpet Cleaner Breaks Into Home: Reports
The man claimed he was high on drugs at the time he was accused of breaking into a FL home and grabbing carpet cleaner, reports say.
WINTER HAVEN, FL — A man allegedly high on drugs was accused of breaking into a Winter Haven home wearing only a shirt and holding the resident's carpet cleaner, according to media reports.
Reports say Austin Alexander Smith, 23, told Winter Haven Police that he did not recall the incident because he was high on methamphetamine.
He was accused of breaking into the 6th Street home around 1:30 a.m. Thursday, both WFLA and Fox 13 Tampa Bay reported.

Residents were alerted after hearing a bang at their front door, the reports say. After being confronted, he dropped the carpet cleaner and ran away from the scene, according to reports.
Ten minutes later, he was detained and arrested, being charged on suspicion of burglary of an occupied dwelling, reports say.
