Go To The Polls Prepared; Lakeland, Winter Haven, Fort Meade Voter Guide
Registered voters from three cities in Polk County head to the polls Tuesday to cast their ballots in municipal elections.

POLK COUNTY, FL — Before you head out Tuesday to vote in either Lakeland, Fort Meade or Winter Haven, make sure you're prepared with all-you-need-to-know before you get to your polling site.
Polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m. on Nov. 2. If you haven't sent your mail-in ballot out by Tuesday morning that might be too late to mail since all ballots have to be received at the supervisor of elections office by closing time.
Also, until 7 p.m. Election Day you can drop off ballots at supervisor of elections office. Or, if you decide to vote at your precinct, take the ballot and turn it in and vote a precinct ballot.

As of Oct. 29, 11,391 ballots out of 31,263 mailed ballots had been returned to the elections office. The Polk County Supervisor of Elections website showed a total of 106,443 registered voters for the municipal elections. The results of each election will be displayed at Polk Elections after the polls close at 7 p.m.

Here's What To Expect On Your Lakeland Ballot
- Mayor—Incumbent Bill Mutz, Saga Stevin (Both Republicans)
- City Commissioner District C Southwest—Allyson "Al" Lewis, Sara Roberts McCarley
- City Commissioner District D Southeast—Mike Musick, Shandale Terrell
- Charter Amendment No. 1—An amendment to the charter to fill commission vacancies at regular rather than special elections.
- Charter Amendment No. 2—An amendment to the Lakeland City Charter to provide for alternates on city canvassing board

What To Bring:
- According to the Florida Department of State, approved forms of photo identification are: Florida driver's license; Florida identification card issued by the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles; United States passport; debit or credit card; military identification; student identification; retirement center identification; neighborhood association identification; public assistance identification; veteran health identification card issued by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs; license to carry a concealed weapon or firearm issued pursuant to s. 790.06; or an employee identification card issued by any branch, department, agency, or entity of the Federal Government, the state, a county, or a municipality
- A voter information card is not an acceptable form of ID. Your card is a good source of information about your voter registration including your assigned precinct and polling location for Election Day.
