Legoland Florida Briefly On Lockdown After Note Found In Bathroom
Legoland Florida was briefly closed to new visitors Wednesday afternoon, but authorities say there was no credible threat

WINTER HAVEN, FL - Legoland Florida was briefly closed to new visitors about noon Wednesday after a note with a threatening message was found inside a family bathroom, according to Winter Haven police. A Legoland employee found the note, which authorities said did not have specific dates or times, but "had verbiage that concerned us." About an hour later the park returned to normal operations.
Winter Haven police, Polk County sheriff's deputies and the FBI conducted a sweep of the park, but found nothing. Winter Haven Police Chief Charlie Bird said bomb-sniffing dogs were used during the sweep.
Park guests and staff were not allowed out of the park and no one was being allowed in while authorities conducted the sweep, police said. During this time, guests continued to enjoy the park with minimal interruption, authorities said.

Another full sweep was conducted to confirm there was nothing located inside the park or the hotel and ultimately the threat was deemed as not credible, police said. About 1:40 p.m., guests were allowed to enter the park.
About 2 p.m., Legoland Florida officials tweeted: "Law enforcement officials have now cleared our theme park after determining that no threat exists. The resort will operate normally for the rest of the day. Guests needing assistance can email Guest Services directly at LLF.Experience@LEGOLAND.com."
