Lakeland Man Dies After Being Struck By Polk Patrol Car
A Polk County Sheriff's Office patrol car struck a Lakeland man who died from his injuries.

BARTOW, FL — A Polk County Sheriff's Office patrol car struck a 44-year-old Lakeland man Tuesday night in Bartow. Thomas Morrison later died from his injuries at Bartow Regional Medical Center.
A spokesperson for the sheriff's office said Morrison ran into the path of the patrol car along U.S. 98, south of Old Eagle Lake Bartow Road.
The driver of the patrol car was identified as Deputy Forrest Scott, who has been with the agency since June of 2018.

"The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital and the deputy was uninjured," the spokesperson added.
