These Polk County Places Are Closed Thanksgiving Day 2021
The majority of county offices and facilities will be closed for Thanksgiving holiday.
POLK COUNTY, FL — As Polk County residents take some time off from work and school to enjoy Thanksgiving, many government offices and facilities will be closed. Here's a list of what's closed this holiday.
Polk County Waste & Recycling
The North Central Landfill will be closed Thursday in observance of Thanksgiving The landfill will re-open, Friday. Residential collection services scheduled for Thursday will take place Friday. Friday services will take place Saturday. The one-day delay will occur for each day of the week following the holiday.

Polk County government offices: All offices will be closed Thursday and Friday.
Post offices: Closed on Thursday, but open on Black Friday.

Libraries: All Lakeland libraries will close early on Wednesday, Nov. 24 at 5 p.m, and remain closed on Thursday, Nov. 25 and Friday, November 26 for the Thanksgiving holiday. Libraries reopen at 9 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 27.
City government offices: Closed Thursday and Friday.
