What's Open, Closed In Polk County On Thanksgiving

Here are some places that will be closed on the Thanksgiving holiday.

POLK COUNTY, FL — The offices of the Polk County Board of County Commissioners will be closed in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.

The North Central Landfill will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 24 in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday and will reopen Friday, Nov. 25.

Residential curbside collection services will be delayed one day. Collection services scheduled for Thursday will take place on Friday. Friday services will take place on Saturday. They will be resuming regularly scheduled collections on Nov. 28.

The Polk County Parks & Recreation administrative office and community centers will be closed.

Lakeland Regional Health’s primary care and walk-in care locations and Watson Clinic’s offices and urgent care locations will be closed.

City of Lakeland offices will be closed for the holiday.

Lakeland Electric offices will be closed.

Lakeland public libraries will be closed.

Gated parks like Common Ground Playground and Hollis Garden will be closed.

Solid waste collection will not take place on Thanksgiving Day. Customers who usually have a collection on Thursdays will be visited on Friday, and Friday customers will have their waste collected on Saturday.
