State Road 54 Lanes Open After Gas Leak

Breaking: Pasco County Sheriff's deputies were asking motorists to avoid the Oakstead area of State Road 54 Monday morning.

LUTZ, FL — Update: Pasco County announced at noon that all westbound lanes of State Road 54 have opened following a gas leak.

Motorists in the Lutz and Land O’ Lakes areas are being asked to avoid westbound State Road 54 late Monday morning.

According to Pasco County, westbound lanes in the area of the Oakstead subdivision are closed due to a natural gas leak. TECO is on the scene to cap the leak.

It is unclear how long the lanes will remain closed. Notification of the leak was released just before 11:40 a.m.
