βThis Bandshell is the result of a community coming together,β said Pasco County Superintendent Kurt Browning. βIt represents various governmental agencies working with multiple civic-minded business leaders to build a quality structure at significant savings that will benefit the young and old alike.β
The Heritage Stage is part of a $2.3 million project to improve the Land Oβ Lakes Community Center, which was built in 1961. The $250,000 stage project was funded through in-kind donations from architects, contractors and a grant from the Florida Department of State, Division of Cultural Affairs.

βThe generous support of our community partners and the school board allowed The Heritage Stage to be completed in its grandeur,β said Kelley Boree, the director of the Pasco County Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources. βThis was truly a community effort and will be a transformative center piece to Land Oβ Lakes. The new stage and recently renovated park will continue to be a gathering place for youth, families and adults, demonstrating how parks build community.β
Construction on the stage began in September 2016 and features a green room, storage, power, lightning and a metal roof that fully covers the stage. Spectators will be able to view events from more than 1.25 acres of open space southeast of the stage.
The Heritage Stage is also surrounded a sidewalk that includes 15 power pedestals for vendors.
The county hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony almost two years to the day for other additions to the community center as part of the $2.3 million project, which included a Bermuda grass practice field, a Bermuda grass football field, a 300-foot Bermuda grass softball field, a .4-mile walking trail, a concession building with restrooms and a meeting room, a maintenance building, an open space, two shelters, new parking lots, a new playground and a remodeled patio.
