Man Accused of Giving Teen Alcohol, Leaving Notes for Sexual Favors
He told deputies he did it to prove the girl had not changed her behavior, according to an arrest report.

A Land O' Lakes man was arrested Thursday after deputies say he gave a 14-year-old girl alcohol then tried to molest her after leaving scraps of paper with notes offering rewards for sexual favors.
According to a Pasco County complaint affidavit, the girl was in the care of Gerald Roberts, 40, of 18439 Fish Loop Blvd., and his wife, when he gave her alcohol, which made her sick. After vomiting in her bed, Roberts told the girl to move to his bed, where she later awoke to him fondling her, the report stated.
The girl told deputies Roberts had promised her "rewards in return for sexual favors" during the past two months. The incidents occured when his wife was at work, on vacation or with friends, the report stated.

On one occasion, the girl said Roberts left pieces of paper on the table each with a different reward, with the levels of the sexual favors corresponding to the levels of reward, according to the report.
Post-miranda, Roberts said he gave the girl alcohol "even though he was aware she was on medication and had prior problems with alcohol and narcotics," the report stated.

Roberts said "he was testing her to prove to his wife that she had not changed her behavior," according to the report.
Roberts told a deputy he had offered rewards to the girl for sexual favors, but that was also a test of her behavior, the report stated. He stated "he had no sexual intentions toward the victim and he knew if he had tried anything she would have told on him," according to the report.
According to the report, Roberts "didn't know what happened" while in bed with the girl because he was drunk.
Roberts was arrested July 5 and charged with lewd and lascivious act on a minor. He is being held in the Land O' Lakes jail on $10,000 bond.
