ST. LEO, FL – Just because it’s the summertime, doesn’t mean learning has to stop. Saint Leo University will introduce some new summer camp programs this year while hosting some popular favorites at its Pasco County campus. The goal of the camps is to help youth learn new skills (and have fun) while school is out for summer break.

Saint Leo’s summer camps are taught by university faculty and staff and include a range of offerings β€” sports such as basketball, baseball and volleyball, swimming lessons, an acrobatics & tumbling clinics, recreation activities, and academic programs such STEM and robotics. The programming offers lots of opportunities for youth to stretch their minds and bodies.

Popular returning camps are robotics, baseball, basketball, and the Little Lions Recreation Camp. This year, the university’s College of Computing, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, and Data Science (CARDS) will offer two robotics camps β€” co-ed high school camp and the Girls Can! camp for ages 11 to 15.

For those interested in science, the new Lions Den STEM Summer Camp will take an interdisciplinary approach to scientific literacy through an emphasis on the interconnectedness of human and natural systems. Campers will focus on real-life environmental problems and propose solutions; they will perform investigations, collect data for mathematical computation, engineer solutions, and write about their findings using the scientific method.
