Reminder: Pasco County Animal Services Hosting Special Holiday Adoption Event

LAND O’ LAKES, FL – Pasco County Animal Services has enlisted a couple of special guests to help their shelter pets find a new home this holiday season.

In an effort to ease overcrowding the PCAS Adoption Center will host a Name Your Own Adoption Fee event on Saturday, Dec. 17 from noon to 4 p.m. at 19640 Dogpatch Lane in Land O’ Lakes.

Guests will have an opportunity to take a picture with Santa Claus and the Grinch as well as bringing home a shelter pet of their very own. While Santa Claus has to get back to the North Pole and the Grinch back to Whoville at 4 p.m., the shelter will remain open for pet adoptions until 6:30 p.m. for this special pricing event.

For Pasco County residents who can’t make it to the Name Your Own Adoption Fee event, Animal Services is offering $25 dog adoptions and $15 cat adoptions for the entire month of December. For both the Dec. 17 event and the month-long event, dogs less than 25 pounds and younger than 8 months are excluded.

For people who wish to spread some holiday cheer to Pasco County Animal Services, their Christmas wish list includes:

• Kuranda Beds, which can be donated through Friends of Animal Services
• Snap-closure dog collars (all sizes)
• Dog and cat treats
• Dog toys (Kong brand are recommended)
• Cat toys
• Blankets, sheets and towels (must be machine washable)
• Liquid laundry soap
• Pet Shampoo
• Cat hideaway boxes
• Small plush cat beds
• Kitten bottles
• Powdered kitten formula
• Heating pads
