Pasco Seeks Resident Input In Neighborhood Notebook

The giant chalkboard will be set up around the South Market Area, allowing residents to post comments about their community.

WESLEY CHAPEL, FL – Pasco County residents may have noticed the large chalkboard set up outside of Guest Services at The Shops at Wiregrass.

Named the Neighborhood Notebook, the interactive chalkboard, will pop up around the Gateway Crossings Market Area in Pasco County throughout the year as part of an ongoing initiative to hear from area residents.

The Gateway Crossings Market Area, as defined by the Pasco County Planning and Development Department, stretches between Wesley Chapel and Trinity, including Land O’Lakes, Lutz and Odessa. According to the Pasco County website, Market Area Planning serves as the basis for land use, transportation and economic development planning.

The Neighborhood Notebook is divided into two sections labeled “I would like to see …” and “I can make it happened …” followed by blanks where people can write their answers on the blanks below.

Pasco County residents already have taken the opportunity to share their thoughts on the Neighborhood Notebook while it’s been at The Shops at Wiregrass, where it will be through Monday, July 17. Other notebooks will be constructed around the Gateway Crossings Market Area soon.

Some of the answers residents gave to “I would like to see …” include “better transit options,” “more (American Sign Language) signings,” “more recycling,” and “public art.” Answers to “I can make it happen …” include “by voting” and “by informing myself.”

The Neighborhood Notebook project is a part of the Walk. Bike. Work. Play. initiative, which looks to understand what matters most to the Gateway Crossings Market Area, one of the five market areas designated by the Pasco County Planning and Development Area.
