Robbers Stole Man’s Pants, Wallet: Deputies

Arrests has been made in connection with a July 7 attack and robbery in Land O' Lakes.

LAND O’ LAKES, FL β€” The Pasco County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest two people wanted in connection with a July 7 attack on a man in Land O’ Lakes.

According to the sheriff’s office, deputies caught up with Dakota Daniels, 20, in a parking lot on Voyager Boulevard on Wednesday evening. Raonel Perez, 21, was brought into custody on Thursday, July 13. The arrests on robbery charges stem from an attack that occurred around 11:15 p.m. on July 7.

Deputies say a man was walking home on Village Lane when he was approached by a group of people. Daniels and Perez are accused of tackling the victim and placing him in a chokehold. The two then β€œforcefully removed the victim’s pants,” an arrest report said. The pants contained the man’s wallet, cellphone, car keys and about $200 cash.

The two accused attackers took off from the scene after swiping about $445 worth of items belonging to the victim, the report said. Authorities noted that the victim had no trouble identifying his attackers β€œdue to them being known to him.”

While Daniels was brought into custody on robbery charges Wednesday, deputies didn't catch up with Perez until Thursday morning.

The victim in the case has not been identified. Deputies said the man suffered minor injuries during the attack, including a cut lip.
