Saint Leo University Welcomes New Students

SAINT LEO, FL – Moving into a college dorm can be a trying experience, especially for those who have never lived away from home.

To make new students feel more comfortable, Saint Leo University makes it a point to give new students the royal treatment on moving day. More than 700 freshmen and transfer students we welcomed and moved into their dorms on the Pasco County campus on Thursday, Aug. 17.

The new students were met by members of the Office of First Year Experience team, University Ministry, Residence Life advisors, upperclassmen, administrators, faculty and staff. The welcoming committee helped the new students unload their belongings and carry them to their residence halls.

Ninety-one of the new students will pursue bachelor’s degrees in biology with an emphasis on biomedical and health sciences when classes begin on Tuesday, Aug. 22. Other popular majors the new students are pursuing include business, criminal justice, sport business, computer science, elementary education, management and psychology.

Fifty-seven of the new students have not decided on a major.
