Pasco County 911 is receiving multiple calls into the communications center regarding smoke in the area of northern Pasco County, authorities said. The Florida Forest Service is conducting a 1,000 acre controlled burn in Citrus County. The north winds are carrying the smoke south. Residents in north Hillsborough County are also seeing smoke in the area.
There are no active fires in Pasco County at this time, according to Pasco Fire Rescue. Smoke should clear out in the evening hours, according to firefighters. If you have a lung condition or breathing ailments, it is suggested that you stay indoors and keep your windows closed until the smoke clears, fire rescue officials said.
