Skies Clear Briefly in Land O' Lakes

Forecasters say more rain is expected. How does your neighborhood look after this weekend's downpour?

There are lots of folks out and about in Land O' Lakes today as the skies clear for the time being.

But forecasters from the National Weather Service’s Ruskin office say the lull in the storm won’t last long.

β€œWe do have a little break, but looking out over the Gulf (there’s) deeper moisture,” said meteorologist Jon Jelsema. β€œWe do expect rainfall to increase.”

A watch means that conditions are ripe for tornado development. If a probable tornado has been spotted, the weather service will issue a tornado warning. To keep up with warnings throughout the day, visit the weather service's severe weather summary page.

Though Land O' Lakes fared somewhat better than other areas, residents did not escape Debby's wrath.

"I am vaccumimg water out room by room. Measured 15 inches on water line on our wall," reader Fred Payne commented on our Facebook page.
