Updated Bay Area Road Closures

For the safety of Bay area motorists, the Florida Highway Patrol has closed the following roads due to flooding and inclement weather:

• The Suncoast Parkway (SR-589) is closed in both directions due to flooding from SR-50 to US Hwy 98.

• The Howard Frankland Bridge (Interstate 275) will be closed until further notice due to high winds, surf and flooding. Currently, surf and swells are affecting all eight lanes of traffic in both directions.  Northbound traffic on I-275 will be diverted at Gandy Blvd while southbound traffic will be diverted at Kennedy Blvd.

• The Skyway Bridge remains closed at this hour due to high winds, flooding and heavy surf.
