Victim Arrested in Lutz Shooting

The incident occurred in the parking lot of Amici Pizza & Deli.

An August shooting at a Lutz pizza restaurant has led to the arrest of the victim.

According to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office, Christopher Boreland and his girlfriend were in a truck parked at Amici Pizza & Deli, 26252 Wesley Chapel Blvd., at about 8:30 p.m. on Aug. 31.

Another couple got into the vehicle to purchase marijuana from Boreland, according to a previous Patch story.

The couple tried to steal the marijuana, Pasco sheriff's spokesman Kevin Doll said Thursday. When Boreland resisted, he was shot in the arm.

The other man and woman jumped out of the truck, leaving the scene in a Toyota Camry.

Boreland's girlfriend drove him to a hospital immediately following the incident. When deputies responded to the hospital, they noticed marijuana in plain view in the truck and confiscated it, Doll said.

Following an investigation, Boreland, 21, was arrested Oct. 10 and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to sell and possession of paraphernalia. He was released Thursday, Oct. 11, on $5,150 bond.

According to a Pasco County complaint affidavit, the sheriff's office's investigation into the shooting was inactivated because Boreland failed to cooperate in that case.
