“Wild Thyme Café” Farm Fresh Restaurant Opens in Pasco County

Bold new master-planned development focused on health and wellness brings farm amenity and on-site dining to the Land O' Lakes community.

Land O’ Lakes, FL (Aug 1, 2024) – Metro Development Group, the developer behind some of Central Florida’s most popular master-planned Lagoon communities, has unveiled a brand-new amenity at its 6,200-acre Angeline community in Pasco County—the Wild Thyme Café. The restaurant, conveniently located in the state-of-the-art community Welcome Center just off State Road 52 near the Suncoast Parkway, serves breakfast, lunch and light bite options, along with a curated selection of beers, wines and seltzers to tempt any palate.

What sets Wild Thyme Café apart from other restaurants is its deep connection with local farms in the Tampa Bay area, starting with the emerging Angeline neighborhood farm just outside its doors. As this professionally managed market garden reaps its first full harvest in the fall, fruits and vegetables grown onsite will be showcased throughout the menu. Wild Thyme also works closely with local farms and providers to deliver the freshest ingredients in their dishes and the onsite market, including:

  • 15Olives, Tampa
  • A Cup of Organic, San Antonio
  • Terrapin Ridge Farms, Clearwater
  • Sunshine Canneries, Dade City
  • Saucy Rebellion, Clearwater
  • Craft Canine Treats, Tampa
  • Orange Blossom Honey, Dade City

Wild Thyme Café’s convenient location at the entrance to Angeline provides a much-needed dining option in this northwest corner of Land O’Lakes. The location offers comfortable indoor seating with tables, a bar and a beautiful outdoor patio with large teak tables overlooking Angeline’s raised garden bed area and neighborhood farm. When the farm enters full production in the fall, weekend farmer’s markets will be offered for Angeline residents and the Land O’ Lakes community, along with other farm-focused programming and events. The café is open Wednesday and Thursday from 10-6; Friday and Saturday from 10-8; and Sunday from 11-6.

“We’re delighted to bring this new restaurant concept to fruition in the growing city of Angeline,” said Lisa Gibbings, Vice President of Marketing and Communications for Metro Development Group. “Showcasing the neighborhood farm in this way offers a tasty and welcoming option for our residents and community members who are curious about all that Angeline has to offer.”

This is the company’s first foray into the food and beverage market, and they have tapped seasoned hospitality leader Mark Clements to lead the Wild Thyme team. Clements has nearly a decade of experience in guiding restaurant operations as a senior supervisor for Legends Hospitality at Raymond James Stadium’s East and West Clubs.

“It’s been a lot of fun bringing this concept to life,” Mark Clements said. “Our residents have already discovered the deliciousness of the café and the serenity of the farm setting. We can’t wait to welcome visitors from all over Pasco County to this little hidden gem.”

In addition to the café and neighborhood farm, Angeline will be equipped with Metro Development Group’s signature Lagoon amenity, along with visionary technology infrastructure, including lightning-fast ULTRAfi internet service and Streetleaf solar-powered LED streetlights.

Construction is already underway on 7,500 single-family homes, villas and townhomes in the 6,200-acre development. Builders include D.R. Horton and Lennar, with Dream Finders Homes coming this fall. The city of Angeline is also home to Speros, Moffitt Cancer Center’s Global Innovation Center, which will feature clinical research facilities and commercial space totaling up to 24 million square feet.

Located in a fast-growing area of Pasco County in Land O’ Lakes, Angeline is conveniently connected to the greater Tampa Bay region through its proximity to Interstate 275 and the Suncoast Parkway.
