Chemical Leak Forces Evacuation of Largo Office Building
There were no injuries reported.
A Largo office building that houses many businesses, including Wells Fargo and Keller Williams Realty, was evacuated Wednesday morning due to a chemical leak, according to a report from the Tampa Bay Times.Â
The leak, according to the report, was started after an air conditioner repairman broke a coolant line.Â
Largo Fire Rescue Division Chief of Logistics Joseph Pennino said an emergency call was placed around 9 a.m. after two workers in an equipment room on the eighth floor of the building at 801 W Bay Drive split a copper refrigerant line as one of them tightened a valve.
