County Reminds Residents of Fireworks Ban

Sparklers can be purchased legally in Pinellas County, but the sale of fireworks is prohibited.

Ready to celebrate with fireworks this Fourth of July?

Pinellas County reminds residents of the ban to buy fireworks that "project into the air or explode," according to an announcement posted on Patch.

"Sparklers remain legal, but they can be dangerous, reaching temperatures of up to 1,200 degrees Fahrenheit," the county wrote.

For more details here is the full announcement on Patch.

Our area has many great places to watch the fireworks.  Check out the Patch Fireworks map here.
