Coyotes Newest Residents at Largo's Bayou Club

'We hear them all the time behind my house,' one resident told WTSP.

Residents of The Bayou Club in Largo are being warned about some unwelcome guests in the gated community of golf courses and well manicured homes: coyotes.

WTSP reports that two pets – a dog and a cat – have gone missing, while some residents have seen coyotes.

"There's, like, a whole bunch of them in this neighborhood, and we hear them all the time behind my house too. I was driving my golf cart around the neighborhood and I was driving in a bush and, like, a mom and two babies came out."

Concern extends to the nearby Sugar Mill Creek apartment complex, where some residents have taken a keen interest in trying to track the coyotes. They are sure they know the paths the animals travel and where they are hunting for prey.

Dennis Sandidge, who works for the Sugar Mill Creek Apartments owner, told WTSP that the complex will call proper authorities to deal with the animals.
