CSI Camp Lets Kids Explore Police Work
Twenty local children spent a week as "detectives" at a special hands-on camp through Largo Recreation.
Have you ever wondered ways investigators solve cases with the fingerprints, shoe prints and blood left behind at crimes?
At CSI camp kids got to see firsthand how to use a special blue lumina light to see prints that the naked eye may not readily detect. Campers looked through the special red glass, which served as a filter over the light, to make the prints pop into view.
"I have always watched the (police) shows on TV and I am interested in becoming a police officer," said Alyssa, 12, of Largo. "I like how you get interact with the police officers and you get to learn how to do everything."
