Ground Broken For Greenway Affordable Housing Community In Lealman
The Greenway will soon be the home to 12 deserving families in the Habitat for Humanity Pinellas and West Pasco Counties program.
LEALMAN, FL — This month, Habitat for Humanity of Pinellas and West Pasco Counties celebrated the groundbreaking of the Greenway, a property in the Lealman community that will soon be the home to 12 deserving families in the Habitat program.
Among those attending the event in support of affordable housing in Lealman were Pinellas County Commissioner Charlie Justice, State Rep. Lindsay Cross, Kathryn Driver with the Pinellas Housing Authority, Pinellas County Commissioner Dave Eggers, Pinellas County Property Appraiser Mike Twitty and members of the Lealman Fire District.
Habitat for Humanity of Pinellas and West Pasco Counties was awarded the opportunity to develop residential property at 4312 46th Ave. N in Lealman as its latest project. This development, called The Greenway, will consist of 12 single-family homes and is a testament to Habitat's ongoing efforts to provide affordable homeownership solutions and foster community growth.

This new development comes on the heels of a major milestone for Habitat's commitment to the Lealman community. In 2023 alone, Habitat completed 15 new home builds in Lealman. Notably, Habitat's 800th home was built in Lealman and dedicated on March 24.
Lealman also served as the site of Habitat's second annual CEO Build, an event that brought together 55 CEOs from around the area and country to construct a home for a deserving family.

This initiative raised over $165,000 and ended with keys being handed over to the Diaz-Gonzales family in April.
Habitat has helped lead the way in the county's overall vision for the Lealman Community Redevelopment Area (CRA), which includes projects to improve and revitalize neighborhoods, parks, housing and waterways.
Sponsors for the Greenway homes are MaintenX, Power Design, Raymond James, MarineMax, the Young and Bray families, Crown Cars, Bank of America, Bayfront Health St. Petersburg, Bankers Financial Corp., the Original Hooters and the 2024 CEO Build.
