Heritage Village to Host Pinellas 4-H Fall Carnival

The Pinellas County 4-H chapter uses the carnival to attract new members.

LARGO, FL – While summer is still bearing down on the area, 4-H has its sights on the fall.

UF/IFAS Pinellas County 4-H will host a fall carnival on Saturday, Aug. 19 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Heritage Village, 11909 125th St. in Largo. The local 4-H chapter is looking to attract new members with the carnival.

The event will take place in the back of Heritage Village by the water tower and the windmill. Parking will be available at the village and the Florida Botanical Gardens.

The free open house is designed to give interested youth ages 5 to 18 the opportunity to see what 4-H clubs are offering participants in the upcoming year. Adults interested in volunteering with the organization are also invited to attend.

The carnival will feature animals, carnival games and include educational activities, fashion shows and project demonstrations for children to get an up-close experience with 4-H activities. Information sessions about 4-H clubs will take place at the top of every hour. A silent auction also will take place with proceeds benefiting Pinellas County 4-H.

4-H is a national youth development organization with clubs that focus on various research-based topics such as gardening, ecology, archery, fishing, STEM and more.
