Largo Doctor to Pay $2.25 Million for 2008 Death of Clearwater Man
The Tampa Bay Times reports 81-year-old David Gabrielli was given morphine when his medical records showed he was not allowed any.

AÂ Pinellas-Pasco Circuit Court has ordered a Largo doctor and clinic to pay a Clearwater widow $2.25 million for the death of her husband in 2008, according to a report by the Tampa Bay Times.Â
The Times reported 81-year-old David Gabrielli was given morphine on the orders of Dr. Douglas Turnbull. Gabrielli was not suppose to take due to a medical condition, the report said.Â
"Warnings not to give morphine to Gabrielli were "literally all over his chart," said attorney Wil Florin.Â

... After getting the morphine in 2008, Gabrielli "started slurring his speech and became forgetful, confused and incontinent," according to the lawsuit against Turnbull and the Diagnostic Clinic in Largo."
