Largo Fire Rescue To Host chili Cook-Off, Open House

Teams from the City of Largo will battle it out to support the Children's Burn Foundation of Florida.

LARGO, FL – Largo Fire Rescue has put out an alarm – for area residents to come eat some chili and explore their day-to-day jobs.

Largo Fire Rescue will host its Annual Open House and Chili Cook-Off on Saturday, Oct. 14 from 1 to 4 p.m. at Fire Station 41, 180 Fourth St. S.W. All proceeds raised will benefit the Children’s Burn Foundation of Florida.

The Chili Cook-Off features teams from the City of Largo. The teams will compete for the titles of Best Taste, Chef’s Choice, Best Theme and the Golden Boot for the most money raised. Attendees can vote for their favorites by donating to the team they choose.

The event also features family-friendly activities, such as Jaws of Life demonstrations, station tours, fire hose spraying, fire engine rides, static apparatus displays and a Bayflite landing zone demonstration.

Refreshments will be available, with donations accepted.

Parking will be available at the Pinellas County School Administration Board parking lot located across the street from the fire station.
