Largo Man Dies In Treasure Island Motorcycle Crash: Police

A 50-year-old man was killed Monday morning when his Yamaha motorcycle rammed into the rear of a 2005 Honda Civic.

TREASURE ISLAND, FL - A 50-year-old man was killed Monday morning when his Yamaha motorcycle rammed into the rear of a 2005 Honda Civic, police said.

The crash victim was identified as Gary Orsley of Largo. The 2005 Honda Civic, driven by 67-year-old Jim Uppendahl of North Port, was stopped for another vehicle in the southbound median lane of Gulf Boulevard, at the intersection of 104th Avenue when, deputies say, Orlsey ran his Yamaha motorcycle into the rear of the Honda Civic.

Investigators say that Orsley was ejected from the motorcycle upon impact with the Civic.

Orsley was reported to be wearing a helmet. He was pronounced dead by paramedics from Treasure Island Fire Department at 8:46 am. Uppendahl was not injured in the crash.
