Largo Mayor Part of Coalition Against Illegal Guns, PSA Released

Largo Mayor Patricia Gerard is one of 40-plus mayors in Florida and one of more than 900 mayors nationwide that are a part of "Mayors Against Illegal Guns".Β
Today the group released a PSA in hopes to ramp up the pressure on Congress to act on tightening gun laws in America.Β
The PSA features mayors from Boston, Philadelphia, Minneapolis, Gainesville and San Francisco.Β

Mayors Against Illegal Guns is, "demanding that Congress take action to pass legislation to require background checks for all sales, limit military-style assault weapons and high-capacity magazines and make gun trafficking a federal crime."Β
βAmericans overwhelmingly support background checks to keep guns out of the hands of criminals,β said Mayors Against Illegal Guns Co-Chair and New York City Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg in a news release.Β βNow itβs time for Congress to stand with their constituents to pass a law requiring background checks for all gun sales β and to take other common sense steps that will save lives.β
