Man Dies From Injuries In Early Morning Shooting; Suspect Arrested

Woman treated and released and suspect is apprehended.

The St. Petersburg man taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries after an early morning shooting in unincorporated Largo is now dead.

The suspect, Jimmie Ray Hickman, 32, of unincorporated Largo, was arrested and charged with a count each of second-degree murder and attempted murder.

According to detectives, the deceased man is Olester Clemons, 30.

His friend and godsister Ericka Satchell, 20, received non-life-threatening injuries.

Pinellas County Sheriff's detectives report that the three individuals were out Friday evening and returned with Hickman to his home on the 6500 block of Marlberry Lane.

Sometime during the night, detectives report that Hickman and Clemons, who both knew each other, began to fight about Satchell. Clemons was shot and Satchell received an abrasion wound sometime around 3:13 a.m. Saturday (May 28), according to detectives.

Clemons and Satchell were both transported to Bayfront Medical Center, where Clemons later died.

Satchell was treated for her injury and released.

Hickman remained on the scene when deputies arrived. He was taken to Pinellas County Jail, according to detectives.

The investigation is ongoing.
