Minivan Slams Into Largo Church
The unidentified driver was injured, when the motorist lost control of the Toyota minivan and hit the wall of a Largo church.
A driver was hospitalized Monday, after his vehicle slammed into the St. Paul United Methodist Church, 1199 S Highland Ave., in Largo.
The single-vehicle crash occurred Monday at 8 a.m., when a Toyota minivan traveling on Highland Avenue swerved, crossing on to the church lawn and colliding with the church, according to the Tampa Bay Times.
Authorities have yet to identify the driver in the crash, which left a five-foot wide hole in the church's brick wall. There were not other injuries.
The driver, whom officials have not identified, was taken to Bayfront Medical Center with what appeared to be minor injuries.
Church administrator Arch Johnston told the Tampa Bay Times:
"Our first and foremost concern is that the gentleman was okay," he said. "Things can be replaced and fixed. People can't."
