Name McGough's Newest Owl!

Blind in one eye and almost completely blind in the other eye, Largo's newest owl was found at the Fox Hollow Golf Course in Trinity.

Barb Walker of Clearwater Audubon found the great horned owl in early May.

"Her demeanor is awesomely sweet though. Not threatened or threatening," Walker wrote in a post on Largo's website. 

The injured owl joins the center's other owls  and . The new owl has a home next to Matilda's enclosure, which was built  with funds donated by the Clearwater Audubon Society.

Now the great horned owl needs a name. Suggestions can be made on the city's website.  Deadline for name submissions is September 16. The top five names will be selected and posted on the Park and Recreation Facebook site.

The new great horned owl must be hand fed because of her injuries, which nature center volunteers speculate could be from a fight with an eagle.

Cost: There is no charge to go to the park.
