New, Repaired Sidewalks Show Pinellas' Commitment To Pedestrian Safety
Pinellas County maintenance crews have completed repairs to 14 miles of sidewalk in 22 months.
PINELLAS COUNTY, FL — Pinellas County Public Works is managing a project along Starkey Road between Ulmerton Road and East Bay Drive that is bringing sidewalks to both sides of the road for improved pedestrian access and safety.
The goal is to increase safety for pedestrians in the area and to encourage everyone to walk.
Additionally, the county's sidewalk maintenance crews are on a roll. The crew set a goal of completing 587 needed sidewalk repairs over 24 months, and has finished the job in just 22 months.

The crew completed a total of 1,161 service requests, amounting to about 14 miles of sidewalks so residents of unincorporated Pinellas County can walk and bike safer.
