New Largo Veterinary Clinic Focuses on Affordable Care

The Animal Care Clinic of Largo focuses on education and affordable care.

Tucked on a shaded lot across Seminole Boulevard from The Barrington is the new Animal Care Clinic of Largo. The veterinary clinic opened its doors Sept. 17.

The clinic is owned by Dr. Shashi Goswami, who also teaches at St. Petersburg College's School of Veterinary Technology.

"Our mission at Animal Care Clinic of Largo is to offer affordable, convenient and quality care to the animals of our community," Goswami wrote in an email.

"In this difficult economy, we realized that many pets are not getting adequate care and our goal is to help educate pet owners about importance of preventive care and provide highest quality veterinary services at affordable prices," Goswami wrote.

Dr. Janell Dowling loves working at the new veterinary clinic.

"Everyone says they want to become a veterinary because they love animals. I also love client education. I have this overwhelming passion for animals," she said.

Affordable prices drew Dowling to the new practice. She says the reasonable prices encourage people to get their pets vaccinated as well as other preventive care.

There is "no cut in the quality of the care. The prices are very affordable. It's about making a connection with people and their pets," she said.

Along with her dog and birds, Dowling is rehabilitating a turtle, which will be released back into nature when it recovers from a leg injury.

The new clinic is at 1100 Seminole Boulevard in Largo. The phone is 727- 614-9732.
