Regina Drive House Fire Under Investigation

The state fire marshal is investigating a house fire on Regina Drive that happened Easter Sunday.

The state fire marshal is investigating the cause of a house fire that occured in the Central Park Estates subdivision fire Sunday afternoon.

Largo Fire Rescue got multiple calls, the first at 5:36 p.m., about a fire at 329 Regina Drive S.

Smoke was coming from the roof when firefighters got on scene about four minutes later, said Michael Handoga, assistant chief of training for Largo Fire Rescue.

"When they entered the structure they encountered heavy smoke and high heat conditions," he said in an email.

Several hose lines were deployed and the fire was out in about 20 minutes.

The state fire marshal is investigating the cause of the fire, he said.

While displaced, the homeowner was not injured, Handoga said. The Red Cross was contacted to help, he said.
