Ride Through History, Back-to-School Parties and More Weekend Events in Largo

 Head to the Armed Forces History Museum off of Ulmerton Road for a day of family fun Saturday.  Ride historical vehicles, touch-a-truck, free hot dogs, meet re-enactors, explore the museum and more.

The event runs from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.. Cost per person is $10 adults, $5 for youth ages 4-12. Get more details in the Patch event listing.

BACK-TO-SCH0OL BASH

Outdoor games, face painting, music, give-aways, s’mores and more are part of the fun at Hope Church’s event Saturday evening from 6 until 9 p.m.  Picnic food and refreshments will be available for purchase.

HEALTH AND SAFETY FAIR

The 13th Annual Back-to-School Health and Safety Fair is at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church Saturday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. with registration ending at noon.

BAY AREA SINGLES AND COUPLES DANCE 

Since 1997, the Bay Area Singles Dance has offered the opportunity for area singles and friends to meet. Each Sunday about 150 people enjoy listening and dancing to a wide variety of music at the Largo Community Center at 400 Alt. Keene Rd.  Cost is $8.

THE LITTLE MERMAID JR.: The whole family can relive the magic of the Disney tale in this musical performance at the David A. Straz, Jr. Center for the Performing Arts, 1010 North W.C. MacInnes Place, Tampa. Show times are 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9, and 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10. Get tickets online or call 813-229-7827.
