Her Name is Stormy Gayle, and She's Ready for Isaac
A local woman who got her name when she was born during a tornado 55 years ago now embraces storms with perseverance and preparation.
Born during a tornado in 1957, Stormy Gayle Davis clung to life in an incubator for three months.Β
"Doctors told my mother I was going to die. But she told them, 'Not my Stormy Gayle,' " said Davis on Sunday outside of the .
Fifty-five years later, Davis is still Stormy, and she embraces natural disasters with perservance and preparation. Even her car's license plates say "STORMY."

"I am not afraid of hurricanes; I survived one for five weeks without power," she said. "I have water, canned goods, bleach and a generator."
Sunday morning, Davis was grabbing breakfast at McDonald's before a planned day of painting at her Clearwater home. Davis said she was prepping her home in case family and friends decided to weather out Isaac at her place.
