1 Killed, 6 Injured In Miami Crash Involving Stolen Pick-Up

One person was killed and six others injured Tuesday when a stolen pick-up truck slammed head-on into an SUV.

MIAMI, FL — One person was killed and six others injured Tuesday when a stolen pick-up truck slammed head-on into an SUV. The crash occurred at NW 14 Avenue and 35 Street. The driver and passenger of the red Dodge Ram pick-up were being detained by Miami police.

Officer Kenia Fallat of the Miami Police Department said that the crash took place around 1:45 p.m.

"According to detectives, a red Dodge Ram pick-up truck crashed head-on with a black
Ford Flex SUV just east of the NW 14 Avenue and NW 35 th Street intersection," Fallat explained.
"Preliminary investigation has revealed that the red Dodge Ram pick-up truck was
traveling eastbound and the black Ford Flex was traveling westbound when they
crashed head-on."

Fallat said all six injured people were taken by Miami Fire Rescue personnel to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center, including the driver and passenger of the pick-up who were treated for non life-threatening injuries.

"The red Dodge Ram pick-up truck shows to be reported stolen out of the city of
Miami’s jurisdiction on July 16, 2018," said Fallat, adding that the driver of the Ford Flex was pronounced dead by medical staff at Jackson Memorial Hospital.

Police shut down NW 13 Avenue to NW 15 Avenue on NW 34 Street for a time on Tuesday as detectives combed the crash scene.
